How to spell aggressive
aggressive
Not agressive or aggresive.
The trap
The word aggressive has two Gs and two Ss, and agressive drops one of the Gs. The mouth says a single hard G, and a doubled consonant sounds no different from a single one.
Doubled letters are part of how a word is built, not decoration. The reason behind a double varies from word to word. Often it is an added ending, sometimes the word's history, so the double is learned along with the word.
What it means
adjective. Ready or likely to attack or confront; characterized by or resulting from aggression.
