How to spell apparent
apparent
Not apparant or aparent.
The trap
The word apparent has two Ps and ends -ent, and apparant writes the ending as -ant. Appear helps with the double P but says nothing about the unstressed ending.
-ant and -ent are the same sound when the syllable is unstressed. Which one a word takes is usually learned with the word, and its -ance or -ence relative keeps the same vowel (confident, confidence).
What it means
adj. clearly visible or understood
