How to spell relevant
relevant
Not relevent.
The trap
The word relevant ends -ant, and the misspelling relevent writes the ending as -ent. The ending is unstressed, so it sounds the same either way, and relevance keeps the same A.
-ant and -ent are the same sound when the syllable is unstressed. Which one a word takes is usually learned with the word, and its -ance or -ence relative keeps the same vowel (confident, confidence).
What it means
adjective. Closely connected or appropriate to what is being done or considered.
