How to spell seize
seize
Not sieze or seeze.
The trap
The word seize puts E before I, and the misspelling sieze swaps the two letters. It says ee with no C in front, so it breaks the usual order, and siege beside it goes the other way.
IE and EI are easy to swap, so the order has to be known. When the pair says 'ee' it is usually IE, but EI straight after a C that says S (receive), unless the IE came from a Y (policies); when it says 'ay' it is usually EI (eight).
What it means
verb. to take hold of quickly and forcibly
